Join Caerphilly Cycling Club

New riders are more than welcome to two trial rides before deciding to join Caerphilly Cycling Club. After that we ask that you join us and pay the appropriate membership fee.

The club year is from April 1st until March 31st every year. The cost of club membership is £10 (normally £20, but discounted for 2021) if you join the club before September 30th. After that date we realise that you're not having the benefit of club rides in the evenings. However, there are other activities through the winter so the cost of joining after that time would be £10 (N/A for 2021, the cost is £10 whenever one joins).

If you pay the full membership amount of £10 and join the club in February or March then your membership will be carried over for the next full year.

Strava

If you are a user of Strava we ask all members to append (Caerphilly CC) to their surname on Strava. This is a nice, easy way to spread the name of the club, especially when you appear at the top of a leader board smashing the KOM's. The Strava page for the club is here.

Pay for Membership

Membership is paid via the British Cycling website. They take a small admin fee and then pass the rest of the funds on to us. It's a convenient way to pay and allows us to keep track of membership. Alongside club membership, we encourage all our members to take out at least Ride membership with British Cycling for the extra benefits that brings. Please remember that British Cycling and Caerphilly Cycling Club are separate entities with their own respective joining fees. Click here for more information on joining British Cycling. As Caerphilly Cycling Club is an affiliated club there are discounts are available for first time members.

When you become a member of or renew your membership with Caerphilly Cycling Club you will be registered for an online account with British Cycling. We will provide British Cycling with your personal data which they will use to enable access to an online portal for you (called My Dashboard) on the British Cycling website. British Cycling will use your personal data in accordance with its Privacy Notice which can be accessed at https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/staticcontent/info--Privacy-Policy-0. British Cycling will contact you to invite you to sign into and update your dashboard (which, amongst other things, allows you to set and amend your privacy settings). As a club member your information may be shared on the club website, social media pages or in emails sent by the club. This data will only be shared in the event that either you are a club volunteer, have participated in a race or challenge event or have recorded a major achievement. This data will be limited to your name, race results (if applicable) and details of your achievement. Limited further information about you may be included; for example, whether you have participated in a juniors’ race or a women’s race.
